BlackBerry has confirmed that it is not a rumor and it is true that the company is coming up with its new, latest and first ever Android device called “PRIV”.
John Chen, the CEO of the company stated that the smart phone “combines the best of BlackBerry security and productivity with the expansive mobile application ecosystem available on the Android platform.”
He also confirmed that this smart phone will arrive at the end of 2015 “in major markets in-store and online”. Other details of the smart phone will be revealed in the coming weeks. As far as the rumors go, this smart phone will have Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge-like curved screen, QWERTY keyboard slider and 18-megapixel camera.
Despite the company’s turn toward Android, Chen said it “remains committed to the BlackBerry 10 OS,” and will release version 10.3.3 in March, 2016.
BlackBerry is clearly trusting the new telephone is a hit, as sales continue to falling. Income for the quarter finishing in August was a baffling $490 million, somewhat more than half of what it was this time in 2014. In any case, the organization still had enough money to buy Good Technology prior this month for $425 million, and said it expanded its money equalization by $37 million amid the quarter. Despite everything it posted a greater than-anticipated misfortune, however so a considerable measure is riding on its new Android methodology and the strangely named “Priv” handset.
